Phoenix Fox 2026 Mix: Deep Afro-Bass, Tribal House, and Underground Healing

Episode 15/26

Phoenix Fox

We welcome a much looked forward to mix from Phoenix Fox, an artist known for her eclectic, forever-evolving house music sound. Guided by a core mission to use music as a healing force, Phoenix Fox creates a powerful escape from the mundane where strangers become friends and souls are lifted on the dancefloor. Fresh off the high of hosting a jam-packed, sweaty tent of love, sound therapy, and yoga at the Orbital Gathering alongside Namaste Hybrid Retreats, this latest set captures that exact spirit of pure connection. Fully embracing the transient nature of the music industry, Phoenix Fox has pivoted toward a deep appreciation for the underground house scene, constructing a sonic journey that balances spiritual healing with raw dancefloor energy.

Listening to this DJ mix, you will be guided through a masterfully built house set that starts softly with the gorgeous, healing vocals of Diplo before diving into upbeat tribal rhythms and naughty, driving afro-basslines. Infused with motivational lyrics and nostalgic elements, the mix also features a deeply personal nod to Fatboy Slim's remix of "Demons" - a track mirroring her own recent battles and respect for his offering to dance music. Inspired by the underground vibe of Damian Lazarus and Day Zero in Tulum, this podcast mix is a beautiful testament to overcoming challenges, adapting to change, and finding ultimate unity through rhythm.

Artist Interview

My highlight so far this year has been Orbital Gathering... I ran my own festival area...

Please introduce yourself to those unfamiliar with your DJ sound.

Thanks for having me back again. I'd say I have a very eceltic sound. Take you on a journey. Like to play upbeat, tribal sounds, vocals with some familiar sounds to keep people captured. Love a sassy Sound, but equally love the naughty bass lines. Forever evolving.

What are your highlights of the past year and what is planned for the future?

My highlight so far this year has been Orbital Gathering... I ran my own festival area, with well being sound therapy & Yoga.... then had some amazing local talented DJ's, every single one of them inspire me. It was full love and connection. How music should always be. Namaste Hybrid Retreats. WOW it was a sweaty tent. Jam Packed.

Tell us something that you know now that you wished you knew when you first started DJing.

I wish when I started I'd realised its a very transient industry. Energy changes, and nothing lasts forever. You just have to move on and adapt. It also is an evolving thing for me. My ear has changed and now finding Iove the complete underground sound.

I do find music healing and that is my mission to help lift people up...

What artists have inspired your DJ style?

My latest favourites are Damien Lazeros. He plays at day zero in Tulum mexico. I just can't wait to go there and experience it. Also have a new apprieciation for Fatboy Slim. The demons remix he's done (in this set) and lately been fighting a few of those myself so reconnecting to him and got complete respect for his legacy.

Talk us through your podcast mix track selection.
So starting softer with some Diplo, always an ease you in gently sort of gal, gorgeous vocals, so healing. Then moving onto some upbeat deeper afrobass lines with some familiar tunes to keep it nostaligic to some one at some point. Motivational music where the lyrics send out positive messages. I do find music healing and that is my mission to help lift people up and heal their souls on the dancefloor. Life can be so mundane, it's the one place where people do connect and are all friendly with each other, strangers become friends.
