Nightclubs will have to enforce social distancing rules or face closure.

No dancing in nightclubs. Okay this is going to sound messed up but go with it for a minute: when nightclubs are allowed to open back up they are likely to face very strict rules to ensure social distancing is adhered to. Nightclubs are social venues and when busy you can easily be dancing shoulder to shoulder with total strangers - this makes for a horrific melting pot for the virus to spread. To combat the potential virus spread and to keep the important 'R number' down, governments around the world are introducing strict measures including no dancing rules for nightclubs.

Nightclubs with no dancing? Yep, it may be a necessary evil that venues will have to swallow in order to open up in a time when even standing within 2 meters in public is frowned upon and potentially aiding viral transmission. Berlin nightclubs have been preparing their venues for opening with changes such as reduced capacity, increased security and lots of measures to ensure people stay distanced when queuing at the bar.

Will there still be DJs? It's hard to see a DJ wanting to play to a crowd who are not allowed to dance. You have to question a DJs purpose in this circumstance - DJs are paid to get people dancing and by reading the crowd can tailor the music accordingly.

Is it best for nightclubs to remain closed? Nightclubs are businesses and they need to make money to survive. No nightclub ever made money closed, fact. But for a venue to open with rules that prevent a fundamental element of their existence is going to be a tough call for bosses. Maybe the initial opening may see venues opting to show live sports or converting their venues to cater for seated entertainment such as comedy or drama.
