The tracks that make hairs tingle!

Hi, Please introduce yourself to those unfamiliar with your DJ life.

I used to play house music at the South West bars and clubs back in 2000-2010. My day job meant I was unable to play as regularly as I wanted and I took a step back from playing events and focused on event promotion - that's where Little South really came in to it's own.

Describe your DJ sound.

I love to play all forms of house music. From the nu-disco vocal tracks, to synths packed with emotion and the progressive beats of tech house. The tracks that make hairs tingle!

I can really relate to music being a source of comfort...

Tell us how you have kept busy during the last year or so of lockdowns.

Working for the NHS meant my work became more and more demanding during the covid pandemic. It was surreal to see the world shutting down and crazy to look back at the measures we all had to live with - exercise once a day and rules of six! Aside from work, spending quality time with family as much as possible. I can really relate to music being a source of comfort as it certainly was for me. I found so many new artists and listened to hours of new music (not necessarily new, but new to me).

Talk us through this podcast episode and why you have chosen to include the tracks that have made the cut.

This mix is my first published mix using my 1210s and Phase devices. Those that know me, know how I really love the tactile nature of turntable mixing. I have never really felt the same about other devices. They are fun to use and I feel I have to work a bit harder to keep the tracks lined up! I have included tracks from artists that seem to consistently make tunes I want to hear more of. Artists like Joris Voorn , Adriatique, Lane 8 and Eli & Fur. This mix is a bit of fun and I did't take it too seriously - enjoy!
