A poster for podcast mixes lomond episode 1/19

Kicking off 2019 we have a brand new artist who is all about variation of dance music in his sets. You can catch him playing at his Delirium club nights in Falmouth each month. For this podcast mix, tech house is on the menu!

Lomond, welcome tell us about yourself

I'm originally from Edinburgh but currently based in Falmouth while studying at Exeter University. I have always been massively into music it's something my dad installed in me. The first album I ever owned at age 6 was Discovery - Daft Punk. I remember sitting in the garden listening to it on my Sony CD Player. Then from there when I went into high school age 13 and got myself one of the wee Numark Total Control controllers for Christmas. Although the bulk of my DJing didn't happen until uni.

What is your typical DJ style?
My style is all about variation. I play Disco, House, Techno, Breakbeat, World and some Tribal sounds. I don't really plan my DJ sets too much, I just have my memory stick immaculately organised into folders and see what the gig is saying on the night.

Where have you been playing this year?
The bulk of my gigs have been at my own night Delirium or at my monthly residency at Toast in Falmouth. It has been a good year playing at Mono (RIP), Fives, The Stannary, Mangos and two boat parties.

Who are the producers / labels you have been following?
A label I have been obsessed with recently is Doubleu, some unreal tunes been dragging on there, warehouse Music, Sulta Selects and labels closer to home like DABJ and Numbers. I've been really into a lot of Irish producers at the moment, they are really killing over there at the moment. You can't go wrong with Kettema, Boots & Kats or Rebuke.

Where can we find you playing next?
My next gig is at Delirium Refreshers party @ Fives in Falmouth on January 24th 2019.

Take us through the tune selection for your debut podcast mix
It's a selection of some of the tracks I have been listening to recently, I have been doing a lot of Disco & House gigs recently so I thought it would be a good opportunity to mix some more techy tunes. Hope you enjoy!
