Artist Interview
...I’m probably best known for my Drum & Bass sets...
Please introduce yourself to those unfamiliar with your DJ sound.
Hi everyone – it's great to be back, and thanks so much for having me again! I'm Miss Trixsta, and I’m probably best known for my Drum & Bass sets, having played across the scene for the past two decades. Over the last couple of years, though, I’ve really been diving into Breakbeat – a genre I’ve always loved and now enjoy playing out alongside DnB.
My sound blends heavy, wobbly basslines with catchy melodies, and I love fusing the old with the new, whether it’s Breaks or Drum & Bass. If you've seen me out recently, there’s a good chance you caught one of my Breaks sets. It’s been amazing to see the response and support for this side of my sound. Massive love to everyone who's been listening, dancing, and continuing to book me for a genre that’s a little less known under my name. Big shouts to Signal, INK, and Say Nuffin for the recent Breaks bookings – I truly appreciate it.

I like to keep my transitions long and layered, allowing the tracks to breathe and interact with each other.
What are your highlights of the past year and what is planned for the future?
This year has been incredible! One of the major highlights was co-running stages at a few local festivals, including FrENDzy, which I hosted alongside my good friend DJ Leroy for the third year running. Huge respect to Nigel and the whole team — they put so much heart and effort into making it a top-tier event every year.
Gig-wise, I’ve had the pleasure of playing across venues in Devon and Cornwall, as well as making a trip up to Camden, London. A standout moment was supporting the legendary Congo Natty at Move in Exeter — a night to remember for sure. I’ll be back at Move on 29th November supporting General Levy, which I’m really looking forward to!

I've also been working closely with the CodeRed crew this year, (big shouts to Leroy and Corp), playing events in support of the Forever Days Cornwall charity, founded by the late Jay Day and his daughter. There are more charity events planned, and plenty already booked going into 2026, so watch this space.
Tell us something positive to inspire future artists.
I’ve said this before and I’ll always say it again: be yourself, be authentic, and most importantly — enjoy it! Have fun with your sound and stay true to what you love. That’s when the magic really happens.
What artists have inspired your DJ style?
You might’ve guessed it already, but yes — I’ve recorded a Breaks mix! My influences come from both the classic and modern sounds of the genre. Artists who’ve inspired this set include Guau, Stanton Warriors, Colombo, and Lowco. Their styles have really shaped my approach to blending the deep, bass-heavy vibe with energetic rhythms and cutting grooves.
Talk us through your podcast mix track selection.
This mix is all about vibes — think classic funk and soul drum breaks, layered with heavy basslines and some smooth, vocal breakdowns to tie it all together.

As with my Drum & Bass sets, I like to keep my transitions long and layered, allowing the tracks to breathe and interact with each other. I love playing around in the mix and creating a journey that evolves throughout the set. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed putting it together!
