Artist Interview

"So here I dish up something quite different from my usual dj style. A 16 track Nu Funky Ass Disco mix."

Hi Sundance, it's 2020 - what's new?

Moving forward this year we have a new brand starting for outdoor events named Hyzteria Muzik Events. We’re hoping to have the first one set up for later this year.

This will be an exclusive party for just 500 people. Acts we’ve already spoken to who are keen to get onboard include, Mr Traumatic, Steve Lid, Leroy, Cozzy Watt.

This year, apart from organising an event or two, will see me mainly locked away in my brand-new purpose-built studio.

Writing new dance tunes and an album, mostly Trance, but still room for House and some Electronica. Working with new vocalists and musicians with a few collaborations as well.

A lot of the in-studio work can be viewed on the studio’s web page vis the uploaded videos.

Sundance Studio’s is also for hire for beginner’s or seasoned pros. We offer Dj lessons for adults and kids as well as music production courses.

So, if you’re someone who has a music idea but has no knowledge of the software etc then we can help get it out. Or if you’re a vocalist and want to record your singing voice then the studio has the all the facilities for this.

Will there be a new Boxx club?

We’d like to think so, never say never we say! You’ll be the first to know as and when.

In the meantime, Boxx has a few injustices to take care of through the legal system coming up in April. This is something we have been waiting for and have kept tight lipped about until now. Be prepared for a big scoop!

Talk us through your podcast mix.

So here I dish up something quite different from my usual dj style.

A 16 track Nu Funky Ass Disco mix. Reworks of classics mixed up with some real 70’s groove and funk. There were some great tunes in the disco era and it’s a big hit again now and has been for some time. Good music is good music and a strong melody with a pumping beat is a recipe for a hot dance floor.

It’s fun and simply, has a feel-good factor that raises smiles getting people to throw down some funky ass shapes.

If you want to hear this style live, you can catch me doing a little regular Nu Disco slot up at the Roller Rink in Pool, Redruth every Sat from 8pm. There’s a great little dance floor up stairs and a bar.

So, with all that in mind fire up the mix and get it pumping!
