SONAR In Plymouth

June 4th 2022

The Terrace, Plymouth

One of the South West's most picturesque live music venues, The Terrace will play host for a new dance event nestled by the water below Plymouth Hoe. SONAR is a quality house music event series that has the potential to be very special indeed!

What the organisers say

Ok. So about 4 weeks ago I get a message asking if I’d like to do a number of events during the summer at The Terrace.

I’ve always had a strong connection to the venue, this started in 1995 when I met the owner Sean during my first season in Ibiza. Sean was a friend of a friend & lived above Cafe Del mar during that summer.

Like most people that visit the island, Ibiza had quite an effect on Sean. And when the opportunity arrived Sean created the Terrace on Plymouth Hoe & started his journey at this incredible venue.

Fast forward to 2016. This was this year I was approached to help with a small House Music brand called Four/Four in Tavistock, Devon. They were hosting nights at a bar called HQ. I had the vision of taking this brand to Plymouth & doing outdoor events at The Terrace. Sean kindly agreed & away we went!

On our sixth event we had over 500 people dancing away under the stars to Ben Remember at this incredible venue.

The sea, sun & house music just go hand in hand.... In fact, that's an understatement, they are a match made in heaven. And this is why The Terrace works so well. People get a connection when they attend an event here. It’s like nowhere else in the City.

So it was a lovely surprise when the Terrace reached out to me asking if I’d like to do a number of events during the summer.

Together with my friend Jamie Foss, we came up with the idea of SONAR.

So let me tell you a little about the brand...

With SONAR we intend to bring a touch of the white isle to Plymouth's historical foreshore. We are blessed to have the best outdoor space this amazing city has to offer. And we will be maximising it's full potential by putting on quality house music events, showcasing incredible music & creating great vibes!

We kick things off on Saturday 4th June, during the Jubilee weekend showcasing some of the best talent the SW has to offer. We have Hayley Blue, Amy Frier, Jack Be Nimble, Reece Johnson & myself providing the tunes from 5pm - 0:00.

Expect straight up House Vibes from beginning to end!
