Morphosis In Session

Episode 24/18 | Morphosis | Podcast Mixes

A man wearing headphones is playing music on a little south podcast

Morphosis is back with a crate-beating mix guaranteed to get your feet moving! We are always chuffed with a fresh mix delivery from Morphosis and this mix is sure to please!

Hi Jack (Morphosis), tell us about your style - has it changed at all?

I play a big melting pot of genres smashed together as seamlessly as possible on a pair of 1210’s. As the DJing technology has advanced I think my style has constantly evolved and improved moving from Vinyl to CDJ’s then back to turntables with Serato.

What has 2018 been like for gigs?

2018 has been loads of fun, we had a great summer out in the fields with a solid run of amazing shows at some of our favourite Festivals in the UK and supporting some quality acts for our residency at The Pigs Nose Inn in East Prawle, Devon.

Any stand out events?

I think it would have to be hosting our own venue ‘The Hong Kong Ping Pong Club’ at Leopallooza with my HKPP compadres.

Tell us about any projects or plans you have?

Lot’s of fun stuff already being lined up for next summer, presenting the live www.nsbradio.co.ukshow ‘Beating The Crates’ as and when my schedule allows and plotting next years Leopallooza venue line up!

What’s next gig wise?

Next up is the sold out NYE show at The Pigs Nose Inn which, if last year is anything to go by, is gonna be a blinder! Just started talking about some shows out in the Alps although no fixed dates yet.

Talk us through your podcast mix. Why did you choose the tunes you have included?

This podcast is almost entirely made up from a go to Serato crate entitled ‘Funkin’ Five Stars’ that all my favourite fun and funky tunes end up in. Tunes are selected to sit musically with the previous track slowly pitching up from a sedate 88BPM to a bumping 120BPM with the final 60min mix emerging organically over a period of weeks until it’s ‘just right’.
