Flavourlabel | Ibiza Style DJ & Producer | Cornwall Sunsets & Mixes
Episode 21/26
Flavourlabel
Flavourlabel is a Cornwall-based DJ and producer delivering a premium slice of Ibiza-style electronic music across the South West, ranging from atmospheric, chilled-out beach sessions to upbeat, bouncing bar gigs. Known for capturing the collective energy of the crowd, the artist draws from a rich musical history spanning live bands to UK-wide DJ sets, pulling inspiration from the melodic sounds of Ben Böhmer to the high-energy breakbeats of A.Skillz and Krafty Kuts. Highlights from the past year include playing marathon 5-hour sunset sets directly on the Cornish coast and securing major support slots in Newquay, Porthleven, and Polzeathv - warming up the stage for UK hip-hop legends The Scribes and keeping the party jumping long after the final mic drops. Deeply proud to support the vibrant South West music scene, Flavourlabel places a massive emphasis on building personal connections within the DJ community and lifting fellow artists up. Looking ahead to the upcoming season, the goal is to expand horizons by bringing this unique sound to brand-new Cornwall venues and officially adding UK music festivals to the roster.
To give listeners a taste of this signature sonic journey, Flavourlabel’s latest beach-to-sunset mix seamlessly blends nostalgic familiarity with fresh, deep and progressive house music. The set kicks off with an Ableton-warped, high-bass edit of Thomas Lee’s Stay Until Morning, paving the way for melodic earworms like Massane’s Demons remix, the percussion-heavy Salta by Sultan + Shepard, and the driving piano progressions of Sickluv & Thabza De Soul’s What I Need. Seamlessly segueing through the trucking basslines of STP's That Girl is Crazy and Chris's Yes Baby, the mix masterfully drops crowd-pleasing curveballs like the Shai T Revisit Mix of Radio Ga Ga and a beach-ready SoundCloud edit of Radiohead’s Everything In Its Right Place. As peak-time energy peaks with Disclosure's You & Me (Rivo Extended Mix), the vibe smoothly transitions into a cinematic, sunset finale; tracks like Robby East's Melody for Misfits and Stereo Mind’s emotional, expansive soundscapes build a powerful collective energy, culminating in Astradreamer's For a Moment - a track heavily nodding to Bicep that completely carries the crowd away just as the sun sinks into the sea.

Artist Interview
...I am hoping to expand my horizons with a few different locations in the coming year.
Please introduce yourself to those unfamiliar with your DJ sound.
I am Flavourlabel, Dj and producer. You will find me on the beaches and in the bars of Cornwall delivering a slice of Ibiza style electronic music ranging from the chilled and atmospheric to upbeat and bouncing. I love watching the reactions of people listening and dancing along and enjoy some lovely feedback along the way. In an alternate reality I play some hip hop and breakbeat because I just love music and can’t help myself. I recently have been supporting The Scribes.
What are your highlights of the past year and what is planned for the future?
My highlights from the last year include playing long 5 hours sets on the beach watching the sun go down over the sea. Sometimes you have to pinch yourself that you have these opportunities. Also support slots in Newquay, Porthleven and Polzeath where we have warmed up for The Scribes and kept the party jumping afterwards.
Next year I am looking to add festivals to my roster I have a few possibilities and am looking forward to seeing what happens, also we have so many great venues here in Cornwall I am hoping to expand my horizons with a few different locations in the coming year.
Tell us something that you know now that you wished you knew when you first started DJing.
I think one thing I appreciate now more than ever is supporting each other in the Dj community and making personal connections. It really does make such a difference. I love the music scene in the South West and I am both proud to be a part of it and support it too.
I have a long history of music from being in a band to Djing around the UK...

What artists have inspired your DJ style?
I have a long history of music from being in a band to Djing around the UK so it is difficult to pinpoint a specific influence. However, Ben Bohmer from the chilled side of things and A Skillz, Krafty Kuts on the other end.
Talk us through your podcast mix track selection.
My Mix:
1 Stay until morning - Thomas Lee
Vibes! I have sped this track up in Ableton to match the starting tempo and it really sets the scene for the beach vibes, a warm up track that leads into the main vibe. All the better with decent Bass.
2 Demons - Massane Remix
What a beautiful track, an earworm too, I find this swimmimg in my head.
3 Salta - Sultan + Shepard
A little percussion leads into and a nice piano progression with echos of Black Coffee. Lush electronica
4 Radio Ga Ga Shai T Revisit Mix
I like to throw a bit of familiarity into a mix with a twist. This mix is on Soundcloud and I just love the way they use that familiar bassline to such good effect.
5 What I Need - Sickluv Thabza De Soul
Lovely piano progression coupled with a great vocal that carries the track through.
6 Stay There - Tonic Water
A vibey tune to segue into...
7 Everything in it’s right place
This track track has been sampled a lot and in different genres. This version from Soundcloud sets the tone perfectly for chilled out beach vibes. A bit of familiarity or maybe a curve ball?
8 That Girl is Crazy - STP
Vibey and ulifting a bassline that trucks along nicely
9 Sand feat A Sul - Moullinex - Yulia Niko
What’s not to love, lovely vocal, great bassline, progression and even an 80s synth thrown in and Sand! On the beach.
10 Yes Baby - Chris
Another trucking bassline with hooky sample vocal.
11 Shadow of your love
Great vocal, deep trucking bassline, then the horns float over it all.
12 Floating - Massane
Arpeggio heaven lifting us along
13 You & Me Rivo Extended Mix
Classic and well known track, so well put together impossible to leave out.
14 Melody for Misfits - Robby East
Heading towards that sunset moment, this track captures the vibe
15 Emotions Offline - Stereo Mind
Sun Setting, deep feels, collective energy
16 Silent Constellations - Stereo Mind
This takes over where the last track left off continuing an expansive feel that can’t help but hit your emotions.

With more than a hint of a certain track by Bicep, this moment takes us off as the sun goes down
