Little South is where the artists come to play - created with the goal of supporting and promoting local DJs and Producers in West Cornwall, UK, who specialise in various genres of dance music. The enthusiastic response from the Cornish nightlife community was overwhelming, allowing Little South to become a crucial platform for local artists seeking exposure at events. As time went on, our reach expanded beyond Cornwall and encompassed artists and events from across Devon and the entire South West of England , UK. One of our defining features has been the opportunity to showcase DJ mixes through our podcast series. Since our establishment, we have actively published podcast mixes from some of the most talented DJs in the South West . These mixes serve as a testament to the exceptional skills and creativity of our region's DJs, providing a platform for them to showcase their talent to a wider audience.

At Little South, we have a strong commitment to nurturing nightlife and live music events. A crucial aspect of our work is event promotion, which we prioritize and strive to excel at. Our dedicated team actively seeks out localised, independent music events to showcase and promote. Additionally, we proudly provide a platform for major events happening throughout the South West region , including specialist music festivals and large capacity live music events. By actively supporting and promoting these events, we aim to contribute to a thriving music scene and ensure that both local artists and established acts receive the recognition they deserve.

Artist Interview

I've played for lots of brands and in lots of countries...

Please introduce yourself to those unfamiliar with your DJ sound.

Based in Somerset, I have been DJing for 22 years and I play a selection of House, Techno and Trance.

My signature sound is more progressive and has been prevalent pretty much since day 1. I like to find remixes of old classics, to put in my set, alongside some of my own productions and up front promo’s. So something for everyone.

What are your highlights of the past year and what is planned for the future?

I’ve played for lots of brands and in lots of countries, my highlight, being at Space in Ibiza a few years ago, before it closed; but I have also played in France, Egypt, Pakistan, Greece, Lithuania and others.

In the last couple of years I have started playing at Festivals, having always been a club DJ, I wanted to experience playing in a field! My favourite and definitely the highlight was Forbidden Garden Party in Devon and my favourite club gig is and probably always will be, Magic Hatstand in Exeter.

I’ve always tried to stay true to myself, playing what I love, whether that fits in to a box, or not. The only thing that makes you different, in a world full of DJ’s, is yourself!

What artists have inspired your DJ style?

Gorgon City, Alan Fitzpatrick, James Talk, Mark Knight, Funkagenda, Artbat.

Talk us through your podcast mix track selection.

For this mix, I have chosen some of my staple tracks, ones I have had in my bag for a long time and generally I don’t hear anyone else play. Alongside some familiar recent tracks and a couple of my own productions. It’s progressive but with attitude!
