What the organisers say

Wednesday 6 – Sunday 10 August 2025. If you’re camping at the festival, you’ll be able to stay until our campsites close on Monday 11 August.

Boardmasters is split over two festival sites in Newquay, Cornwall.

Watergate Bay is where you’ll find our main arena and campsites. It’s the most beautiful festival site in the UK.

Our pro-surf competition takes place at the world famous Fistral Beach.

You don’t need a ticket for Fistral Beach but you will need to book a Weekend, 3 Day No-Camping or Day ticket for entry to our Watergate Bay site.

This year we have a new layout and new stages.

We’ve reimagined our main arena and campsites to give you more space to dance, chill, and explore.

We’ve boosted our 24/7 security coverage across campsites and with watchtowers and more high-vis patrols day and night.

We’ve added more search lanes to keep queues moving and moods high.

We’ve improved our campsite hubs. You’ll find 24 hour support, more info, and a more connected experience across the weekend.

Boardmasters began in 1981 as an international surf competition, founded on Cornwall’s iconic coastline, rooted in a passion for the ocean and surf culture.

Since then, it has evolved into a unique surf and music festival that celebrates community, creativity and the beach lifestyle. We bring people together from all walks of life to share unforgettable moments by the sea, celebrating our connection to Cornwall, the coast, each other, and the cultures that shape who we are.

For many of us, the world can feel challenging right now, and at a time when communities can seem more divided and disconnected, the values at the heart of Boardmasters are more vital and meaningful than ever before. These values remind us of our shared humanity and the power of gathering, expression, and truly seeing and appreciating one another.

We believe that music and surfing have the power to bring people together, break down barriers and create space for freedom, self-expression and belonging.

Whether it’s through the waves at Fistral Beach or the live music at Watergate Bay, Boardmasters has always existed to offer a safe and inclusive space for everyone. A place to feel welcome and free, to be yourself, and to connect with nature, community and creativity.

We’re incredibly proud of our roots, our ethos, and the community that makes Boardmasters what it is. Through the Boardmasters Foundation, we’re able to deepen our connection with our community neighbours by supporting grassroots organisations, youth initiatives and community projects across Cornwall.

We promise that we will keep listening and learning, always staying true to the values that brought us here in the first place, and to the future we want to help shape – together.

We’re grateful to do this with each and every one of you. As ever, we’ll see you at the beach.
