Artist Interview
If it’s funky, soulful, and packed with bounce - you’ll hear it in my mix.
Please introduce yourself to those unfamiliar with your DJ sound.
I’m Hayley Blue… my aim is to serve up a high-energy fusion of house, disco, tech house, and that funky jackin’ groove. My mission…Simple …to make you smile, move your feet, and lose yourself in the rhythm. From feel good classics to deep, bumpin’ bangers, I craft sets that turn any space into a dancefloor. If it’s funky, soulful, and packed with bounce - you’ll hear it in my mix.

This year has been all about growth, gratitude, and grooves...
What are your highlights of the past year and what is planned for the future?
This year has been my busiest, and most rewarding yet! I played my final set as a resident DJ for the incredible Sonar in Plymouth - an emotional night full of memories and gratitude for the journey so far. I’m proud to announce new residencies in Torquay and the launch of my very own night at The Sawan Club in Plymouth, created especially by the OAP - Older and Partying crew. It’s proof that great music knows no age!
Festival season is in full swing too, with sets at Back to the Barn and the amazing Rock Oyster Festival, bringing the funky, jackin' house and feel good energy to bigger and brighter dancefloors.
I’m incredibly excited (and humbled!) to be heading to Ibiza, playing alongside the brilliant Will Bailey and Abigail Bailey, a dream opportunity to bring my sound to house music’s most iconic destination!
This year has been all about growth, gratitude, and grooves and there’s so much more to come. Just want to say a big thank you to everyone that’s come to events this year, and to those that have given me opportunities.
Tell us something positive to inspire future artists.
Play what makes you happy! Don’t ever change who you are just to fit in. Your sound, your style, and your passion are what set you apart. Be humble, be patient, and be willing to work your way up. This journey takes time, but if you’ve got the drive, the love for the music, and the dedication to your craft, you will make it happen. Stay true, stay focused, and most importantly - enjoy every step of the ride!
What artists have inspired your DJ style?
The artists who have inspired me are people like Dennis Ferrer, Green Velvet, Dombresky, Adam Ten, Mark Knight. Basically any producer that incorporates dirty basslines, funky disco samples, cheeky vocals, and percussive breakdowns that hit hard but still keep people smiling.
Talk us through your podcast mix track selection.
My goal with this mix was simple: to spread joy, spark movement, and bring people into that timeless groove where everything just feels good. I wanted to create a seamless journey through house, disco, tech house, and funky jackin' rhythms - the kind of sound that lights up a dancefloor, whether you’re in a club, your living room, or on a summer drive.
It’s a celebration of old and new. I start off with a bouncy jackin track “Bless Me Today’ by Alan Dixon that blends elements of gospel house and groovy rhythms leading into some vocal disco beats. It encapsulates my love for a diverse range of house music. As I get further into my mix, I juxtapose current tracks with more funky, soulful grooves that evoke feel good energy, funky basslines, soulful vocals, and driving jackin beats. Towards the latter part we go down tempo with some melodic deep house with elements of progressive. I hope you’ll agree that it’s a mix that puts a smile on your face and makes it impossible to sit still.
