Devin Industrial Mix

Episode 23/18 | Devin | Podcast Mixes

A man wearing headphones is playing music on a little south podcast

Devin returns with a dark industrial sounding podcast mix and of course you may have previously known him under his Jus'Novus guise. This exclusive DJ mix sets the tone for the dark winter season!

First things first, you have switched from Jus’Novus to Devin - why?
Having previously gone by the stage name Jus’Novus for a number of years I’ve seen my sound evolve and develop naturally over time. This transition was long over due and following summer 2018 I performed for the first time under my new name, Devin, on the Durty Disco stage, Halloween Masked Ball.

Tell us about your summer gigs and any stand out events you have played.

2018 has by far topped previous years for me with regards to live events, starting festival season playing two sets, The Pyramid & Durty Disco Stage at Summer Masked Ball then continuing through summer on the Sunday Stage at Lizard Party (Kynance), Leopallooza Treeline Stage, Boardmasters Coney Island and finally Halloween Masked Ball Durty Disco Stage which was to date my finest live performance and one to remember.

Are you able to describe your current sound?
For some time now I’ve been playing an obscure and unusual underground sound with warped out, gritty, off kilter synths and moody undertones at a constant chugging pace, typically around the 124-128bpm mark and not bound by standard genres.

Talk us through this podcast mix and your tune selection.
The third podcast from me on Little South see’s my signature style come to life with everything from minimal/progressive tech to solid chunky techno, there's plenty of weapons in this hour long episode recorded in November 2018.
