Tranzfest 29th June 2007
by Emma Nicholas

So where were you if you weren’t in L2 this Fri the 29th June???  First impressions: The club was done out well again with some impressive décor. I think there was a meant to be a pirate theme going on but the olde swashbucklers were few and far between.  Kristoff was blastin’ out those funky house beats downstairs making you groove ya way to the bar.

Taking myself upstairs I noticed transaction had delivered the goods yet again The chill out room was keeping it’s chilled yet happy vibe with some great DJ talent in the form of Damien James, Greg Zizque, Ashley T and Mark B,  people were constantly bopping in and out claiming 5 mins on the floor before they moved into the main room upstairs to join Steve Lid and Tommie Quick back to back.

Steve Lid and Tommie Quick were warmin’ the dance floor up with some hard house.   Cally Gage progressed the night by taking the tunes up a gear followed by technical, he played his hardest set yet I think! but respect as it had me bouncing around the floor for an hour. Technical was followed by Greg Brookman who eased it back just a little but gave it some deep bass beats to vibrate through your soul.

Mean while downstairs Kristoff had moved over for the Goldie Looking Chain., a bunch of guys from Wales doin’ their own unique thing, definitely got people on the dance floor.  Finally Kristoff reclaimed the decks to finish off the night with his fresh and funky mixing, he wasn’t voted Littlesouth best south west DJ for nothin!

It was sad to see that there were not as many people at Transfest this time, but I do have to say that the atmosphere upstairs and in the club generally was electric. No agro just a lot of happy people keeping the dance floor warm all night.

Many happy returns to Kristoff again who spent his 30th birthday devoted to his decks, and music.  Respect to Tommie and Steve who promptly left L2 at the end, jumped in a car and drove to London for a mid-day set and the jumped back in to the car to burn it down to Plymouth where they were playing on the Sat night hardcore or what!  Well that just about sums it up for Transactions 2nd Transfest night.  Hope to see more of you all there for the next one.
