Disfunc are brothers-in-law, Moss and Lanni. They have been DJs and producers since 1996 and have played at most venues across the Cornwall and beyond in that decade including one of Cornwall’s longest running residencies (almost 7 years) at the Bosuns Club (Penzance). Having attended various fledgling festivals and raves in the early 90s, they were inspired by the DIY spirit of dance music of the time and began hosting their own parties. They continued this ethic on moving to Cornwall and started playing underground electronica and breakbeat.
Moss Disfunc covers most of the deck duties these days at venues as varied as L2 (Truro), Sugar Lounge (Newquay) and Salt (Hayle) providing eclectic, alternative sets of electro, disco and indie remixes. Current sets include genre-skipping remixes of various in-vogue bands by producers & labels such as DFA, Soulwax, MSTRKRFT etc. Indeed, over the years, Disfunc have gained a reputation for high-quality sets warmed-up with down tempo electronica before moving-up through the gears through to high-octane electro house and breaks via funk-fuelled electro-disco, including their own productions and mash-ups. Thanks to various national and international promo companies who supply Disfunc with pre-release and upfront 12”s and CDs, their sets always include brand-new, high-quality, cutting-edge dance floor bombs for discerning clubbers to discover.
