It was a close call but we can confirm that Cornwall's Charlie G has been voted Littlesouth's DJ of the Year 2007. Well done Charlie!

How do you feel about being named Cornwall's 'DJ of the Year' 2007?
Chuffed to bits, the perfect end to an amazing year for me.. and a great way to start 2008! Really surprised and over-whelmed with the number of votes. It's also wicked to see the strength of the south west club scene and the huge loyal support from the clubbers.
How has 2007 been for you?
Without doubt the best year so far for me as a DJ and a Producer. From playing for my second year in Ibiza at nights like Judgement Sundays and EsParadis to massive gigs in Ireland, Holland, Wales and all over the country. Iv had single releases and remixes on 5 different record labels and some big dj and radio support on them all, and i also mixed my first compilation for Vinylgroovers 'Traffic Records'. Its definitely been the best year for DJing in Cornwall too, the now monthly Tranzaction parties at L2 have all been amazing, as well as events in Camborne, Plymouth and Penzance, the south-west crowd are by far the most up for it bunch of clubbers i have the pleasure to play too... yeah, definitely the most fun year of my life, and this rounds it up nicely :o)
What are your plans for 2008?
Much more of the same, plenty of gigs and loads of partying.. Im off to Japan in March for a couple of weeks with some huge gigs alongside some real idols of mine, so cant wait for that. Then in June we are doing another 'Tranzaction week in Ibiza', as well as various trips to the white isle through-out the summer. Then there's some massive Tranzfest events both in Truro and Plymouth, not to mention all the stuff every weekend up and down the UK and Ireland, wherever it be solo stuff or double trouble with mr Avaline. Im also going to launch my own record label 'CGI Records', long overdue.. and really get to work in the studio with some big remixes and singles focusing on a electro edged tech trance sound. I set up my own pr company this year which has really started to get going so ill be putting a lot more time developing that. Lastly ill be doing a lot more freelance writing for various magazines, iv just started a monthly column in 24-7, adding to my monthly review page in iDJ (International DJ Mag). So, lots on... and i cant wait!!
What would you like to say to all who voted for you?
A big big thankyou.. its wicked to have such strong support from local clubbers, and as i said before, im totally shocked at the number of votes. Also need to say a big thankyou to Chris Tranzaction for his constant hard work and backing of me, as well as everyone at L2.. and i look forward to playing to as many of you as possible through-out 2008.
How has Littlesouth supported you?
Massively, its a great site, with a strong team behind it, the podcast feature has helped enormously with pushing my music and name to people who may not have the chance to come to clubs to see me play, its great to be a part of the site and im very proud to be the 2007 dj of the year.
